At Sanofi, we appreciate the importance of fostering creative and innovative young minds to help safeguard the future of the healthcare industry. We know that, across healthcare, STEM education is critical in helping to support local innovation and productivity. As a healthcare leader we also know that STEM capacity will remain critical to our Australian team in the future.
Sanofi has forged a significant relationship with Australia's largest children’s education charity, The Smith Family, to help bridge Australia's STEM education divide. Our partnership covers a range of activities to encourage STEM education with some of Australia’s most vulnerable young people and engage our team members.
Learning for Life
The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program recognises that vulnerable children need extra support to stay at school and go on to further studies or work. Learning for Life helps create better futures for children in need by providing:
• financial assistance to help families afford the cost of their child’s education
• support to connect students and their families to local learning opportunities
• access to Smith Family educational programs to help children get the most out of their school years.
Since 2017 we’ve been proud to sponsor 10 students each year, within the Smith family network, through their STEM related tertiary education.
Work Inspiration & Mentoring
Our people, participate in both 1:1 and group mentoring throughout the year. In recent years we have participated in The Smith Family’s hands-on and immersive Work Inspiration days. We have welcomed hundreds of students from schools across New South Wales and Queensland to our offices and virtually, enabling them to gain a deeper insight into their personal career goals, the roles that may be available to them in healthcare in the future and the role of STEM in the future of work.
Annual Toy & Book Appeal
Christmas can be a difficult time for some families, but it’s also a season of giving and sharing. We encourage our people to play an important role during this period and bring smiles to young vulnerable children, by participating to the national Christmas Toy and Book Appeal event. We ask our employees for cash donations or new toys and books for a variety of age groups. We also contribute with volunteers in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to pack the hampers.
